Description

Yummi Bubbles is a puzzle video game developed by the independent studio Sweet Pixel Games and released in 2021 for mobile platforms and PC. The game is classified as a bubble-shooter genre title, where the primary objective is to clear a playfield of colored bubbles by matching three or more of the same color. The visual theme is centered on confectionery aesthetics, with bubbles designed to resemble gumballs, lollipops, and other candy items. The game features a grid-based layout at the top of the screen, with a targeting mechanism at the bottom. Levels are structured with a fixed number of bubbles to eliminate, and the player is given a limited number of shots per round. Failure to clear the required bubbles results in a level restart. The game includes a progression system with over 200 levels, each introducing new obstacles such as locked bubbles, stone bubbles, and moving platforms. A scoring system awards points based on chain reactions and combo eliminations. The game does not include a multiplayer mode and is strictly single-player. It is available on iOS, Android, and Windows via digital distribution platforms.

Instructions

Gameplay and controls are based on a point-and-click or touch interface. The player controls a launcher located at the bottom center of the screen. The launcher rotates left and right to aim at the bubble grid above. The player selects the angle of the shot by moving the mouse or dragging a finger across the screen. A dotted trajectory line indicates the predicted path of the bubble. The player releases the bubble by clicking the mouse button or lifting the finger. The bubble travels in a straight line until it contacts another bubble or the top boundary, where it locks into the nearest grid position. If three or more bubbles of the same color are connected after placement, they are removed from the playfield. Bubbles that are no longer attached to the top of the grid fall and are also cleared. The next bubble in the queue is automatically loaded into the launcher. The player can see the upcoming bubble color in a preview window. Special power-ups, such as a bomb bubble or a rainbow bubble, appear periodically and can be activated by shooting them into a cluster of bubbles. The game provides a pause menu accessible via a button in the corner, which allows the player to restart the level or return to the main menu. No keyboard shortcuts are used; all interactions are performed through the pointing device or touch screen.
