Description
Haaland Funny Face is a digital party game developed by an independent studio, released in 2023 for mobile platforms and personal computers. The game centers on the likeness of professional footballer Erling Haaland, utilizing a stylized, cartoonish representation of his facial expressions. The primary objective is to manipulate the character’s facial features in response to a series of on-screen prompts. The game is structured as a single-player challenge with a leaderboard system, tracking the player’s reaction speed and accuracy across multiple rounds. Each round presents a specific emotional or physical state, such as surprise, anger, or exhaustion, which the player must replicate by adjusting the character’s eyebrows, mouth, eyes, and cheeks. The visual design employs bright colors and exaggerated proportions, with the character’s face occupying the majority of the screen. The game includes a tutorial mode and a practice mode, alongside the main timed challenge. No narrative or story elements are present; the gameplay is purely mechanical and score-based. The game does not feature any microtransactions or advertisements, functioning as a standalone purchase.
Instructions
Gameplay and controls are executed through a combination of touch or mouse inputs. The player is presented with a central image of Haaland’s face, surrounded by four adjustable sliders or dials, each corresponding to a specific facial region: eyebrows, eyes, mouth, and cheeks. A target expression is displayed in a small box at the top of the screen, showing the exact configuration required for that round. The player must drag each slider to match the target positions. The sliders operate on a continuous scale, allowing for precise adjustments. A timer bar at the bottom of the screen counts down from ten seconds per round. Upon completing the configuration, the player presses a confirm button located at the center of the screen. The game then compares the player’s configuration to the target, calculating a percentage match. A score is awarded based on the match percentage and the time remaining. If the timer expires before confirmation, the round is marked as a miss. The game consists of twenty rounds, with the difficulty increasing as the target expressions become more complex, requiring simultaneous adjustments to multiple facial regions. The final score is the sum of all round scores, displayed on a global leaderboard. No keyboard shortcuts or alternative control schemes are available.
