Description
Dots Line is a minimalist puzzle game released for multiple digital platforms. The game presents a grid-based playing field populated by a series of colored dots. The core objective is to connect these dots in a single continuous line without lifting the drawing implement or retracing any segment of the path. The line must pass through every dot on the grid exactly once to complete a level. The game’s visual design is characterized by a clean, monochromatic background with brightly colored dots and a dynamic line that changes color as it moves. Levels are procedurally generated or hand-crafted, increasing in complexity by adding more dots and introducing obstacles such as blocked cells or directional constraints. The game does not feature a timer or score system; the only metric is successful completion of the puzzle. Dots Line is classified as a logic puzzle and is often compared to the classic "one-line" drawing puzzles. It is available on mobile operating systems and personal computers.
Instructions
Gameplay and controls are based on a single continuous drawing action. The player initiates a line by pressing and holding a finger on a touchscreen or by clicking and holding a mouse button on a starting dot. The line is then drawn by dragging the cursor or finger across the grid. The line automatically snaps to the center of each dot as the cursor passes over it. The line cannot be drawn through empty spaces or over dots that have already been visited. If the player attempts to cross a previously drawn segment or lift the input device, the line breaks and the puzzle resets to its initial state. The interface provides a visual indicator of progress: each dot changes color or disappears once connected. A level is completed when the line has passed through every dot and the final dot is reached. The game offers a hint system, typically accessible via a button in the corner of the screen, which reveals the next correct segment of the path. Controls are responsive to the speed of the input; slow, deliberate movements are required for precise navigation through tight spaces. There is no undo function; a failed attempt requires a full restart of the current puzzle.
