Description
Conquer Us is a real-time strategy and territory control game developed by independent studio Ironclad Interactive, released in 2023 for Windows, macOS, and mobile platforms. The game simulates a persistent conflict between multiple factions vying for dominance over a procedurally generated map divided into hexagonal regions. Each region contains resources such as food, metal, and energy, which are required to build units, construct defenses, and research technologies. The core objective is to eliminate all opposing factions by capturing their capital regions. The game features no single-player campaign; instead, it operates as a continuous multiplayer environment where matches can last from several hours to multiple days. Players can form temporary alliances, though the game enforces no permanent teams. The map is fully visible to all participants, eliminating fog of war. A global chat system facilitates diplomacy and negotiation. The game ends when one faction controls 100% of the regions or when all other factions are eliminated. Victory is recorded on a public leaderboard.
Instructions
Gameplay and controls are managed through a point-and-click interface. The player begins with a single capital region and a small number of basic infantry units. To issue commands, the player left-clicks on a unit or group of units to select them, then right-clicks on a target region to initiate movement or attack. Units move in real time across the hexagonal grid, with travel time dependent on terrain type. Combat is resolved automatically when two opposing units occupy the same region; the outcome is determined by unit statistics, including health, attack power, and defense modifiers. The player can construct additional units by selecting a controlled region and clicking the "Build" button in the bottom toolbar. Each region has a build queue limited to three units. Resources are displayed in the top-left corner of the screen and are generated passively per region per minute. The player can upgrade a region by clicking on it and selecting from a menu of structures, such as barracks, factories, or research labs. The keyboard shortcut "B" opens the build menu, "U" opens the upgrade menu, and "Spacebar" pauses the game for planning. The mouse wheel zooms in and out of the map. The "Escape" key opens the settings menu, which includes options to surrender or propose a truce.
