Description
World of Alice: Draw Shapes is an educational video game designed for early childhood development, specifically targeting children aged three to six years. The game is part of the broader "World of Alice" series, which focuses on foundational learning through interactive digital play. The primary objective of Draw Shapes is to teach shape recognition, fine motor control, and basic geometry through a guided drawing mechanic. The game presents a clean, two-dimensional visual environment with a pastel color palette and simple, non-distracting backgrounds. Each level introduces a single geometric shape, such as a circle, square, triangle, or rectangle. The player is shown a dotted outline of the target shape on a digital canvas. The game provides visual and auditory cues to assist the player in tracing the outline correctly. Successful completion of a shape results in a brief animation where the shape transforms into a related object, such as a circle becoming a sun or a square becoming a house. The game includes a progression system where shapes increase in complexity, moving from basic forms to more advanced ones like stars, hearts, and diamonds. No text-based instructions are used; all guidance is delivered through icons, arrows, and simple sound effects. The game is available on tablet and smartphone platforms, utilizing touchscreen input as its primary control method.
Instructions
Gameplay and controls are based entirely on touch interaction. The player begins each level by tapping a large "play" button on the main menu. A dotted outline of a shape appears in the center of the screen. A small animated finger icon or a glowing dot indicates the starting point for drawing. The player must place a finger on the starting point and drag it along the dotted line without lifting the finger. The game tracks the finger's path in real time. If the player deviates significantly from the dotted line, the drawn segment turns red and a gentle vibration or low-tone sound indicates an error. The player can lift the finger and restart the current shape at any time by tapping a circular arrow icon in the top-left corner. A progress bar at the top of the screen fills as the player completes each segment of the shape. Once the entire outline is traced successfully, the shape fills with color and a short animation plays. The player then taps a green checkmark button to advance to the next level. There is no time limit or scoring system; the game is designed for self-paced learning. The only menu options are a "home" button to return to the level select screen and a "sound" toggle to enable or disable audio feedback. The game does not support multiplayer or external controller input.
