Description
Tidydeck: Sort Puzzle is a digital puzzle game developed for mobile platforms, released in 2023. The game is classified within the sorting and organization subgenre of puzzle games. Its core premise involves the systematic arrangement of a disordered collection of items into a predefined, orderly configuration. The game presents a single-screen interface displaying a grid of tiles, each depicting a distinct symbol, color, or pattern. The objective is to rearrange these tiles into a specific target arrangement, typically a gradient, a symmetrical pattern, or a sequence based on a logical rule. The game does not incorporate a narrative, characters, or time-based pressure in its standard mode. Levels are procedurally generated or hand-crafted to increase in complexity, introducing larger grids, more tile types, and more restrictive movement rules. The visual design is minimalist, employing flat colors and clear iconography to prioritize readability. The game includes a limited number of undo actions per level and a hint system that highlights the next correct move. A scoring system awards points based on the number of moves taken relative to a par score, with higher rankings for fewer moves. The game is free-to-play with optional advertisements and in-app purchases for additional hints, undo tokens, and cosmetic themes.
Instructions
Gameplay and controls are based entirely on touch input. The player interacts with the grid by tapping and dragging tiles. The primary control is a drag-and-drop mechanic: the player touches a tile, holds the touch, and drags it to an adjacent empty cell. The tile snaps into the new position upon release. Tiles cannot be swapped; they can only be moved into vacant spaces. The grid contains exactly one empty cell at any time, which dictates the possible moves. The player can only move a tile that is orthogonally adjacent (up, down, left, or right) to the empty cell. Diagonal movement is not permitted. The game interface includes a move counter displayed at the top of the screen, tracking the total number of tile movements performed. A reset button returns the grid to its initial scrambled state. An undo button reverses the last move, with a limited number of uses per level. A hint button, also limited, highlights the tile that should be moved next to progress toward the solution. The player completes a level when all tiles are arranged in the exact target configuration, at which point the grid locks and a completion screen appears, showing the final move count and score. The game does not feature a pause function, as levels are static and non-timed.
