The game is a seasonal variant of the base title The Wizard Elion, featuring a Halloween-themed narrative and aesthetic. The player assumes the role of Elion, a wizard tasked with containing a spectral breach that occurs every All Hallows’ Eve in the fictional kingdom of Veridia. The story unfolds across five distinct zones: the Pumpkin Fields, the Haunted Hollow, the Witch’s Bog, the Crypt of Echoes, and the Final Rift. Each zone contains environmental puzzles, hostile entities such as animated scarecrows and wraiths, and collectible items called Soul Lanterns. The game employs a top-down perspective with a hand-drawn art style, utilizing a muted color palette of oranges, purples, and blacks. The soundtrack consists of ambient orchestral pieces with occasional choral elements. The Halloween Edition introduces exclusive boss encounters, including the Harvest King and the Lich of Misrule, and includes a new crafting system for temporary potions and charms. The game does not feature multiplayer or online components. Completion of the main story requires approximately six to eight hours.

Gameplay and controls are structured around real-time movement and spellcasting. The player character, Elion, is controlled using the left analog stick or the W, A, S, D keys for movement. The right analog stick or the mouse controls the direction of spell targeting. The primary action button (right trigger on controllers, left mouse button) casts a basic projectile spell. The secondary action button (left trigger, right mouse button) activates a defensive barrier that blocks enemy projectiles for a limited duration. Four spell slots are mapped to the face buttons (A, B, X, Y on controllers) or the number keys 1 through 4 on a keyboard. These spells include Fireball, Ice Shard, Arcane Bolt, and Spectral Shield. The player can switch between spells by pressing the corresponding button or key. The inventory menu is accessed via the Start button or the Escape key, where collected items and crafting materials are managed. Crafting is performed by selecting two or more ingredients from the inventory and confirming the combination. The player’s health is displayed as a green bar at the top left of the screen, and mana is displayed as a blue bar below it. Mana regenerates slowly over time. Environmental interaction, such as opening doors or activating levers, is performed by pressing the interact button (Y on controllers, E on keyboard). The pause menu, accessed via the Options button or the P key, allows the player to save the game, adjust volume settings, or quit to the main menu.
