Description

Super Star Body Race is a competitive multiplayer racing game developed by independent studio Neon Forge Interactive and released in 2023 for personal computers and eighth-generation consoles. The game is set in a fictional intergalactic sporting league where humanoid contestants, referred to as "Bodies," compete in high-speed obstacle courses across various planetary environments. Each Body is a customizable avatar with distinct physical attributes, including limb length, torso mass, and joint flexibility, which directly affect movement physics and performance. The game emphasizes biomechanical realism, with characters subject to inertia, momentum, and collision forces. Courses are procedurally generated from modular segments, ensuring no two races are identical. The title supports up to twelve players in online matches and includes a single-player career mode against artificial intelligence opponents. The visual style employs a cel-shaded aesthetic with neon accents, and the soundtrack consists of synthesized electronic music. The game received mixed reviews, with praise for its physics system and criticism for its steep learning curve.

Instructions

Gameplay and controls are centered on real-time manipulation of the Body’s limbs and posture. The player controls a single character from a third-person perspective. The primary input device is a standard gamepad or keyboard. The left analog stick or W, A, S, D keys control directional movement and lateral leaning. The right analog stick or mouse controls the camera angle. The character’s arms and legs are independently mapped to shoulder buttons and triggers. On a gamepad, the left trigger and left bumper control the left arm and left leg, respectively; the right trigger and right bumper control the right arm and right leg. On a keyboard, the Q, E, R, and F keys serve equivalent functions. Each limb can be extended, retracted, or rotated to push off surfaces, maintain balance, or absorb impacts. The player must coordinate limb movements to run, jump, climb, and slide. A stamina meter depletes during sprinting and climbing and regenerates when the character is stationary or walking. Collisions with obstacles or other players cause temporary loss of control and damage to the Body’s integrity, represented by a health bar. The race ends when a Body crosses the finish line or is eliminated by reaching zero health. The interface displays a speedometer, a minimap of the course, and a leaderboard. No assists or automatic controls are provided.
