Sofia's Wedding Story is a single-player life simulation and time management video game developed by PixelBloom Studios and released in 2023. The game places the player in the role of Sofia, a young woman tasked with organizing her own wedding over a period of several in-game weeks. The narrative progresses through a series of structured chapters, each representing a phase of wedding planning, from venue selection to the final ceremony. The game world is presented from a top-down isometric perspective, with environments including Sofia’s apartment, a wedding planner’s office, a dress boutique, a bakery, and a floral shop. Characters are rendered in a stylized, low-poly art style with distinct color palettes. The game features a branching dialogue system that influences relationships with non-player characters, such as the fiancé, family members, and vendors. Instructions
Gameplay is divided into two primary modes: Planning Mode and Event Mode. In Planning Mode, the player controls Sofia’s movement using the W, A, S, and D keys or the left analog stick on a controller. The mouse or right analog stick is used to rotate the camera and interact with objects and characters via left-click or the A button. The player manages a daily schedule displayed in a sidebar, selecting tasks such as visiting vendors, purchasing items, or completing mini-games. A resource bar at the top of the screen tracks Sofia’s energy, money, and time remaining in the day. Energy is depleted by performing tasks and is restored by resting at Sofia’s apartment or consuming food items. Money is earned through completing side jobs or negotiating discounts with vendors. Time advances in real-time during planning, with each day ending at 10:00 PM. Event Mode activates during key wedding milestones, such as cake tasting or dress fitting. In these sequences, the player must complete a series of timed object-matching or sequence-memory challenges using the mouse or touchscreen. For example, during the cake tasting, the player must click on flavor combinations in a specific order shown on screen. Failure to complete a challenge within the time limit reduces the quality of that event. The final wedding ceremony is a longer Event Mode sequence requiring the player to manage multiple simultaneous tasks, such as directing guests to seats, adjusting the music volume, and ensuring the bouquet toss occurs on time. The game can be paused at any time using the Escape key or Start button to access the menu, save progress, or adjust audio and visual settings.
