Description

Penguin Love Puzzle 2 is a tile-matching puzzle video game developed and published by a small independent studio. It is the sequel to the original Penguin Love Puzzle, released in 2018. The game is available on multiple digital distribution platforms, including mobile operating systems and personal computers. The core objective involves a pair of penguin characters, a male and a female, who must be reunited across a series of increasingly complex grid-based levels. The game world is presented in a two-dimensional, top-down perspective with a flat, cartoonish art style. Each level consists of a rectangular board filled with various obstacles, including ice blocks, snow drifts, and movable crates. The primary mechanic requires the player to manipulate the environment to create a clear path for the two penguins to slide into each other. The game features over one hundred levels, organized into distinct thematic zones such as the Icy Tundra, the Glacial Caves, and the Aurora Peaks. A scoring system awards points based on the number of moves taken to complete a level, with fewer moves yielding a higher score. The game includes a built-in hint system that provides a single suggested move per level, which can be used a limited number of times. There is no narrative dialogue or character development; the premise is conveyed entirely through the visual presentation of the penguins attempting to reach one another.

Instructions

Gameplay and controls are based on a turn-based sliding puzzle system. The player interacts with the game board using a mouse or touch input. On a computer, the player clicks on a tile adjacent to a penguin or a movable object. On a mobile device, the player taps the desired destination tile. Each action constitutes one turn. The male penguin is controlled by the player and can slide in any of the four cardinal directions (up, down, left, right) until it hits an obstacle or the edge of the board. The female penguin remains stationary until the male penguin slides into her tile, which completes the level. Movable objects, such as wooden crates and ice blocks, can be pushed by the male penguin if the tile directly behind the object in the direction of movement is empty. Objects cannot be pulled. Some obstacles, such as thin ice, break after a single pass, while others, like stone pillars, are immovable. The game interface displays a move counter in the upper left corner and a level timer in the upper right corner. A pause menu is accessible via a button in the top center of the screen, allowing the player to restart the current level or return to the level select screen. The level select screen shows a grid of levels, with completed levels marked by a star icon. The game does not feature any real-time elements, multiplayer modes, or external controller support. All interactions are performed through a single click or tap per move.
