Description
MineBlocks: Building is a sandbox construction video game developed by BlockForge Studios and released in 2022 for personal computers and mobile platforms. The game is set in a procedurally generated three-dimensional world composed entirely of cubic blocks. The primary objective is the unrestricted creation of structures, environments, and mechanisms using a variety of block types. The world is divided into distinct biomes, including forests, deserts, mountains, and oceans, each containing unique resources and environmental conditions. The game features a day-night cycle and a dynamic weather system that affects visibility and block behavior. No narrative or campaign mode is present; the experience is entirely player-driven. The visual style employs a low-resolution pixelated aesthetic, with a color palette limited to 256 colors. The game supports both single-player and multiplayer modes, with the latter allowing up to 32 players on a single server. Persistent world saving is automatic, and players can export their creations as schematic files for sharing. The game includes a physics engine that governs block gravity, fluid dynamics, and structural integrity, requiring players to consider support and weight when building.
Instructions
Gameplay is centered on block placement and removal. The player controls a character from a first-person perspective, with a crosshair at the center of the screen. Movement is controlled using the W, A, S, and D keys for forward, left, backward, and right movement, respectively. The spacebar initiates a jump, and the left Shift key activates a sprint. The mouse controls the camera view: moving the mouse left or right rotates the character, while moving it up or down tilts the view. Left-clicking the mouse removes the block currently targeted by the crosshair. Right-clicking places a block from the player’s inventory onto the targeted surface. The inventory is accessed by pressing the E key, which opens a grid interface. Blocks are selected by clicking on them in the inventory or by using the number keys 1 through 9 for the hotbar. The scroll wheel cycles through hotbar slots. The Q key drops the currently held block. The F key toggles a flashlight. The T key opens a chat window for multiplayer communication. The Esc key pauses the game and opens the main menu. Advanced building tools are accessed via the B key, which opens a radial menu for functions such as copy, paste, rotate, and mirror. The game also includes a creative mode, activated via the menu, which grants unlimited block inventory and the ability to fly using the double-tap spacebar. Survival mode introduces health, hunger, and resource gathering mechanics, where blocks are mined by holding the left mouse button until the block breaks.
