Meow Runner is a 2D side-scrolling endless runner video game developed by CatPaw Interactive and released in 2023 for mobile platforms (iOS and Android). The game centers on a stray cat navigating a procedurally generated urban environment. The primary objective is to traverse as far as possible while collecting fish icons, avoiding obstacles, and maintaining the cat’s energy meter. Instructions
Gameplay and controls are based on a single-tap interface. The player controls the cat’s movement by tapping the screen. A single tap initiates a jump. The jump height and duration are fixed; the cat cannot perform variable-height jumps. A double-tap executes a double jump, which is the only aerial maneuver available. The cat automatically runs forward at a constant speed that gradually increases as the run progresses. The player cannot stop, slow down, or reverse direction. Obstacles appear in three vertical lanes: ground level, mid-air, and high. Ground-level obstacles require a single jump to clear. Mid-air obstacles require a double jump to avoid. High obstacles, such as overhanging signs, require the player to not jump and instead stay on the ground. Collision with any obstacle reduces the energy meter by a fixed amount and briefly stuns the cat, slowing its forward speed for two seconds. The energy meter is displayed as a horizontal bar at the top of the screen. The fish counter is shown in the upper right corner. The current distance traveled is displayed in the upper left corner. The game does not have a pause function; the run continues until the energy meter is depleted. The game ends automatically when the energy meter reaches zero, and the final distance and fish count are displayed on a results screen. No restart button is present; the player must tap the screen to begin a new run. The game does not support external controllers or keyboard input.
