Description
MasterScavenger is a single-player survival simulation game developed by Red Dune Interactive and released in 2023. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic urban environment where the player controls a character known as a Scavenger, tasked with locating and salvaging resources from abandoned structures. The primary objective is to sustain the Scavenger’s health, hydration, and energy levels while navigating procedurally generated city blocks. The game world is divided into distinct zones, each with varying levels of environmental hazard, loot density, and hostile non-player characters. Resources include food, water, medical supplies, scrap metal, and electronic components, which can be used for crafting tools, repairing equipment, or trading with neutral factions. The game features a dynamic day-night cycle that affects visibility and enemy behavior. No narrative cutscenes or dialogue trees are present; story elements are conveyed through environmental storytelling and collectible data logs. The game ends when the Scavenger dies or successfully escapes the city via a specific extraction point.
Instructions
Gameplay and controls are managed through a third-person perspective with a fixed camera angle. The player moves the Scavenger using the W, A, S, and D keys on a keyboard or the left analog stick on a controller. The mouse or right analog stick controls the camera rotation and aiming. The left mouse button or right trigger performs a primary action, such as attacking with a melee weapon or firing a ranged weapon. The right mouse button or left trigger activates a secondary action, such as blocking or using a consumable item. The inventory is accessed by pressing the I key or the Y button on a controller. Items are organized into categories: weapons, tools, consumables, and materials. The player can equip items by dragging them to the hotbar slots, numbered 1 through 6 on the keyboard or mapped to the D-pad on a controller. Crafting is performed at workbenches found in safe houses, requiring specific combinations of materials. The player’s status is displayed via a HUD showing health, hunger, thirst, and stamina bars. Stamina depletes when sprinting, performed by holding the Shift key or clicking the left stick. Interacting with objects, such as opening containers or climbing ladders, is done by pressing the E key or the A button. The game can be paused by pressing the Escape key or the Start button, which also allows saving the game to a single slot.
