Description
Load The Dishes ASMR is a simulation game developed for mobile platforms, released in 2023. The game combines a mundane household chore—loading a dishwasher—with the auditory and visual principles of Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR). The primary objective is to arrange a set of dirty dishes, utensils, and glassware into a dishwasher rack in an orderly manner. The game emphasizes precision and spatial reasoning, as each item must be placed in a designated slot or orientation to fit within the rack’s constraints. The ASMR component is delivered through high-fidelity sound effects: the clink of ceramic, the scrape of metal, the soft thud of plastic, and the gentle hiss of water droplets. Visual feedback includes slow-motion animations and subtle particle effects, such as soap bubbles or steam, to enhance the sensory experience. The game features multiple levels, each introducing new dish types, rack configurations, and background environments (e.g., a quiet kitchen, a dimly lit restaurant). There is no time limit or scoring system; the gameplay is designed for relaxation and focus. The interface is minimalist, with a muted color palette and no intrusive UI elements. The game is available for free with optional in-app purchases for additional sound packs or themed dish sets.
Instructions
Gameplay and controls are based on a touch interface. The player is presented with a top-down or isometric view of an empty dishwasher rack. Dirty dishes appear one at a time on a counter to the side. To load a dish, the player taps and holds the item, then drags it to a desired position within the rack. A translucent outline indicates where the item will snap into place. The item must be rotated to match the rack’s orientation; this is done by swiping left or right on the item while holding it. The game provides haptic feedback and a soft click sound when an item is correctly seated. Incorrect placement—such as overlapping items or forcing a large plate into a small slot—causes the item to bounce back to the counter with a dull thud sound. The player can also zoom in and out using a two-finger pinch gesture. A small icon in the corner shows the total number of items remaining. Once all items are loaded, the player taps a "Close Door" button, triggering a short animation of the dishwasher door closing and a low hum of water filling the machine. The level then ends, and the next set of dishes is presented. There are no penalties for slow or incorrect placements, allowing the player to proceed at their own pace.
