Description

Little Fingers is a digital puzzle game released in 2023 by independent developer Studio Giraffe. The game is designed for a single player and is available on mobile platforms running iOS and Android operating systems. The core premise involves a small, anthropomorphic character named Pip who must navigate a series of increasingly complex environments constructed from everyday household objects. The game’s visual style employs a minimalist, isometric perspective with a muted color palette, emphasizing geometric shapes and soft lighting. The narrative is conveyed entirely through environmental storytelling and subtle animations, with no written dialogue or voice acting. The game’s soundtrack consists of ambient, procedural audio that reacts to player actions. Little Fingers has been noted for its focus on spatial reasoning and fine motor control, requiring precise input from the player. The game contains no explicit violence, time limits, or competitive elements. It is rated E for Everyone by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB). The total playtime for a single playthrough is approximately four to six hours, depending on the player’s proficiency.

Instructions

Gameplay in Little Fingers is controlled exclusively through touch input on the device’s screen. The player controls Pip by tapping and dragging on the screen. A single tap on a flat surface causes Pip to walk to that location. A tap and drag motion on an object, such as a block or a lever, allows Pip to push, pull, or rotate that object. The player can also perform a pinch gesture to zoom the camera in and out, and a two-finger drag to rotate the camera around the environment. The primary objective in each level is to guide Pip to a glowing exit portal. To reach this portal, the player must manipulate the environment. This includes stacking blocks to create stairs, tilting ramps to change Pip’s trajectory, and activating switches to open doors or move platforms. The game provides no explicit tutorials; all mechanics are introduced through the level design itself, requiring the player to experiment and deduce solutions. A failure state occurs if Pip falls off a surface or is crushed by a moving object, which resets the current level. There is no health bar or lives system. The game saves progress automatically after completing each level.
