Kitty Maze is a single-player puzzle video game developed by independent studio Pawsome Games and released in 2023 for Windows, macOS, and mobile platforms. The game presents a top-down, tile-based labyrinth environment populated by a small, animated cat character. The objective is to navigate the cat from a starting point to an exit portal located within each maze. Mazes increase in complexity across 80 levels, introducing obstacles such as locked gates, moving walls, and temporary barriers. The visual style employs a minimalist, pastel-colored palette with a fixed camera perspective. The game does not include a timer or scoring system; progression is solely based on successful completion of each maze. Gameplay and controls are based on direct manipulation of the cat character. The player moves the cat using the arrow keys on a keyboard, a directional pad on a controller, or swipe gestures on a touchscreen. Movement is restricted to orthogonal directions (up, down, left, right) and occurs one tile per input. The cat cannot move through walls, locked gates, or other solid objects. To open a locked gate, the cat must collect a key item, which appears as a small golden object on the maze floor. Keys are consumed upon use and do not carry over between levels. Moving walls shift position after the cat takes a certain number of steps, altering the maze layout. Temporary barriers disappear after a set duration, requiring the player to wait or plan a route. The game provides an undo button, mapped to the U key or a touch icon, which reverses the last move. A level select screen allows replay of any previously completed maze. There is no pause menu; the game can be exited at any time without saving progress. The interface displays only the current level number and a counter for moves taken. No hints, tutorials, or difficulty settings are provided.
