Description

Jelly Match 4 is a tile-matching puzzle video game developed by the independent studio Sweet Tooth Games and released in 2023 for mobile platforms and PC. The game is set in a confectionery-themed world where players interact with a grid populated by colorful, gelatinous blocks shaped like various fruits and sweets. The objective is to clear the board by aligning four or more identical jelly tiles in a row, either horizontally or vertically. The game features a progression system across multiple levels, each with a unique layout and a set of objectives, such as reaching a target score or clearing specific obstacles like locked tiles or jelly-covered squares. The visual design employs a bright, saturated color palette with soft, rounded edges for the tiles, and the background environments depict whimsical candy landscapes. The game includes a scoring multiplier system that rewards consecutive matches and chain reactions. No narrative or character-driven story is present; the focus remains solely on puzzle-solving mechanics. The game supports offline play and includes a daily challenge mode with randomized grids.

Instructions

Gameplay and controls are based on a drag-and-drop interface. Players select a single jelly tile by pressing and holding a finger or mouse cursor on it. The tile can then be dragged to an adjacent empty space on the grid, provided that space is directly next to it horizontally or vertically. Upon release, the tile swaps positions with the empty space. If the move results in four or more identical tiles forming a contiguous line, those tiles are removed from the grid, and the player earns points. Tiles above the removed ones fall downward to fill gaps, and new tiles may spawn from the top of the grid. The game does not allow diagonal moves or swapping of two occupied tiles. A move counter is displayed on the screen, limiting the number of actions per level. Players can also use power-ups, such as a bomb tile that clears a 3x3 area or a color bomb that removes all tiles of a chosen color, which are activated by tapping an icon on the side panel. The interface includes a pause button, a settings menu for adjusting sound and vibration, and a level select screen. No timers are present; the game is turn-based.
