Description
Huge Slap Run is a multiplayer party game developed by independent studio Flinger Games, released in 2023 for Windows, Nintendo Switch, and mobile platforms. The game is set in a series of abstract, brightly colored arenas where up to eight players control cartoonish humanoid characters. The core objective is to eliminate opponents by delivering a single, powerful slap that sends them flying off the arena edges or into environmental hazards. Each match consists of short rounds, typically lasting 60 to 90 seconds, with the last surviving player declared the winner. The game features a physics-based slap mechanic where the force and trajectory of a hit are determined by the distance between the slapper and the target, as well as the timing of the slap input. Characters have no health bars; any direct hit from a slap results in immediate elimination. The arenas include moving platforms, rotating obstacles, and shrinking boundaries to increase the pace of play. Huge Slap Run supports local split-screen and online matchmaking, with a ranking system based on cumulative round wins. The visual style employs flat shading and exaggerated character proportions, with a focus on clear readability during chaotic multiplayer sessions. The game does not include a single-player campaign or narrative elements.
Instructions
Gameplay and controls are structured around a single primary action: the slap. Each player character is controlled using standard movement inputs. On keyboard and mouse, the WASD keys move the character, and the mouse cursor determines the direction of the character’s facing. The left mouse button executes a slap. On gamepad, the left analog stick controls movement, and the right analog stick or a face button (typically A or X) performs the slap. The slap has a fixed wind-up animation of 0.4 seconds, during which the character cannot move. The slap’s power is determined by the distance between the slapper and the target at the moment of impact; a closer target receives a weaker push, while a target at the maximum slap range (approximately three character lengths) receives maximum force. The slap also interacts with environmental objects, such as explosive barrels or moving platforms, which can be redirected to hit other players. There is no blocking or dodging mechanic; evasion relies entirely on movement and positioning. A brief cooldown of 1.2 seconds follows each slap, preventing rapid successive attacks. The game includes a tutorial mode that explains the slap timing and arena hazards. No in-game text or voice chat is provided; communication is limited to pre-set emotes activated by the number keys or D-pad.
