Description
Home Makeover Cleaning Game is a simulation video game developed by Digital Hive Studios and released in 2021 for mobile platforms, including iOS and Android. The game places the player in the role of a professional cleaning and renovation contractor tasked with restoring and redecorating various residential properties. Each level presents a different room or house area that has fallen into a state of disrepair, characterized by dirt, clutter, and outdated furnishings. The objective is to complete a series of cleaning tasks—such as scrubbing floors, washing windows, removing trash, and organizing items—before applying cosmetic upgrades like new paint, wallpaper, or furniture. The game employs a point-and-tap interface, where players interact with specific objects to trigger cleaning or renovation actions. Progress is tracked through a completion percentage bar, and each level is timed or limited by a set number of moves. The game includes a currency system, where players earn coins for completing tasks, which can be spent on purchasing cleaning supplies or decorative items. A linear level progression is used, with increasing complexity and larger spaces as the player advances. The game does not feature a narrative or character development; its focus is solely on the systematic restoration of virtual interiors.
Instructions
Gameplay and controls are based on a direct touch interface. The player selects a level from a grid-based map. Upon entering a room, the screen displays a static, isometric view of the interior. Interactive objects are highlighted with a subtle glow or a small icon. To perform an action, the player taps on an object. For example, tapping a dirty window initiates a mini-game where the player swipes a finger across the glass to remove grime. Tapping a pile of trash prompts a drag-and-drop motion to move it to a bin. Cleaning supplies, such as a mop or sponge, are automatically equipped when the player taps a corresponding dirty surface. The player does not control an avatar; all actions are performed directly on the environment. A toolbar at the bottom of the screen displays the current task list, remaining moves or time, and the player’s coin balance. To purchase upgrades, the player accesses a separate shop menu, selecting items like new curtains or a sofa, which are then automatically placed in the room. The game provides no manual or tutorial beyond initial pop-up hints. The interface is designed for single-handed operation, with all controls located within thumb reach. No external controller or keyboard is supported.
