Description

Highschool Mean Girls 3 is a life simulation and strategy video game released in 2024 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. Developed by PixelDrama Studios, it is the third installment in the Highschool Mean Girls series. The game is set in the fictional Northwood High School and focuses on social hierarchy, reputation management, and interpersonal conflict among a cast of student characters. Players assume the role of a new transfer student who must navigate cliques, form alliances, and undermine rivals to achieve the status of the school’s most influential figure. The narrative is non-linear, with player choices affecting relationships, story outcomes, and the availability of certain events. The game features a dynamic social system where each character has a reputation score, a clique affiliation, and a set of secrets that can be discovered or exploited. Visuals employ a cel-shaded art style with exaggerated character expressions. The soundtrack consists of ambient school environment sounds and synthesized pop music. The game includes a multiplayer mode where up to four players compete in social sabotage challenges.

Instructions

Gameplay is divided into exploration, social interaction, and strategic planning. The player controls the protagonist from a third-person perspective within the school environment. Movement is handled with the left analog stick or W, A, S, D keys. The right analog stick or mouse controls the camera. Interaction with objects and characters is performed by pressing the E key or the A button on a controller. The core mechanic is the Social Wheel, accessed by holding the right trigger or the Tab key. This wheel presents options such as Compliment, Gossip, Threaten, and Befriend. Each action consumes a limited resource called Social Energy, which regenerates over time or by completing side activities like studying or eating lunch. The Reputation Meter, displayed at the top of the screen, tracks the player’s overall standing. A higher reputation unlocks new areas and events. The player can also access a Phone Menu by pressing the M key or the Y button. This menu contains a Contacts List, a Map of the school, and a Journal that logs discovered secrets and ongoing missions. Missions are structured as multi-step objectives, such as spreading a rumor to a specific group or sabotaging a rival’s locker. Combat is absent; conflict resolution relies entirely on dialogue choices and social manipulation. The game uses a turn-based system for major confrontations, where the player selects verbal attacks or defenses from a list, with success determined by the player’s current reputation and the target’s vulnerabilities.
