The game is controlled entirely through a mouse or touch input. On a computer, the player uses the left mouse button to select items. On a mobile device, the player taps the screen. The gameplay begins with a static image displayed on the screen. The player must locate two items within the image that are thematically or visually connected. For example, a key and a locked chest, or a witch and a broomstick. To make a connection, the player clicks or taps on the first item, which highlights it with a brief glow. The player then clicks or taps on the second item. If the connection is correct, both items are removed from the scene with a visual dissolve effect. If the connection is incorrect, both items flash red, and the player must try again. There is no time limit per level, and no penalty for incorrect attempts. The game provides a hint system: a small question mark icon in the top-right corner of the screen. Clicking or tapping this icon causes one of the remaining items to pulse slowly for three seconds. The hint can be used an unlimited number of times. The level is completed when all item pairs are connected and removed from the scene. A progress bar at the top of the screen shows the number of remaining pairs. The player can exit a level at any time by pressing the Escape key or tapping a back arrow icon, returning to the level selection menu.
