Description

Halloween Merge Promax is a mobile puzzle game developed by an independent studio, released in October 2023. The game combines elements of tile-matching and resource management within a Halloween-themed setting. Players are presented with a grid-based board populated with various spooky items, such as pumpkins, ghosts, bats, and potion bottles. The core objective is to merge three or more identical items to create a higher-tier object, which in turn unlocks new items and progresses the player through a series of levels. Each level has a specific target, such as collecting a certain number of a particular item or reaching a cumulative score. The game features a progression system where completed levels award coins and experience points, used to unlock new boards and cosmetic decorations for a virtual haunted house. The visual style employs a dark, cartoonish aesthetic with muted colors and animated elements like flickering candles and floating spirits. The game includes a stamina mechanic, limiting the number of consecutive plays before a cooldown period is required. No narrative or character-driven story is present; the gameplay loop is purely mechanical and score-based.

Instructions

Gameplay and controls are executed entirely through touch input on a mobile device. The primary action is dragging a finger across the screen to select and move an item tile to an adjacent empty space. When three or more identical items are aligned horizontally or vertically, they merge into a single, higher-tier item in the position of the last placed tile. The merged item then occupies that space, and the consumed tiles disappear. The board does not automatically refill; new items are introduced only when the player merges existing ones, creating empty spaces that can be filled by dragging items from the edges of the board. A toolbar at the bottom of the screen displays the player's current score, level objective, and remaining moves or time, depending on the level type. A pause button in the top-right corner allows access to settings and a restart option. The game provides no tutorial; all mechanics are learned through trial and error. The interface includes a shop accessed via a button on the main menu, where coins can be spent on power-ups such as a hammer to remove a single tile or a shuffle to randomize the board. No in-game hints or undo functions are available. The control scheme is responsive, with a single tap on an item highlighting it and a second tap on an empty space moving it there.
