Guess the Movies! is a digital party game developed by a small independent studio, released in 2023 for personal computers and mobile devices. The game is classified as a trivia and deduction title, designed for groups of two to eight players. Its core premise involves one player silently acting out or describing a film title while others attempt to identify it within a time limit. The game draws from a database of over 1,500 film titles, spanning multiple decades, genres, and international cinema. Each round is scored based on correct guesses and speed, with no single player acting as a permanent host; roles rotate each turn. The game does not include any narrative campaign or single-player mode, focusing exclusively on multiplayer sessions. Visual presentation is minimalist, featuring a clean interface with text prompts and a timer. Sound effects are limited to a countdown beep and a correct-answer chime. The game requires no additional accessories beyond the device screen.

Gameplay proceeds in turns. At the start of a turn, the active player is shown a film title on the screen. The player must then convey this title to the other players using one of three selected modes: Charades, where the player performs silent physical gestures; One Word, where the player can speak only a single word per round; or Sound Effects, where the player can produce only non-verbal noises. The active player cannot speak any part of the film title, use props, or write letters. The guessing players call out their answers aloud. The game interface displays a countdown timer, typically set to 60 seconds. If a player guesses correctly, the active player taps a "Correct" button on the screen, which awards points and advances to the next title. If the timer expires, the round ends with no points. Controls are touch-based on mobile devices and mouse-click based on computers. The active player can skip a title by tapping a "Skip" button, incurring a small point penalty. After all players have taken a turn, the game tallies scores and declares a winner.
