Description

GBox Slide and Swap is a digital puzzle game released for mobile platforms and web browsers. The game presents a grid-based interface populated with a set of colored or patterned tiles. The core objective is to rearrange these tiles into a predetermined target configuration, typically a uniform color pattern or a specific image. The game derives its name from its two primary mechanics: sliding tiles into empty spaces and swapping the positions of two adjacent tiles. Each level introduces a unique starting arrangement and a target arrangement, with the number of moves or the time taken serving as the primary metric for player performance. The game features a progressive difficulty curve, with early levels utilizing small grids and simple patterns, while later levels incorporate larger grids, more complex patterns, and a greater number of tile types. Visual feedback is provided through tile animations and a move counter. The game does not include a narrative or character elements, focusing entirely on the abstract logic of spatial rearrangement.

Instructions

Gameplay and controls are executed through direct touch or mouse input. The player interacts with the grid by selecting a single tile. Upon selection, the tile becomes highlighted. The player then selects a second tile. If the two selected tiles are adjacent horizontally or vertically, the game executes a swap, exchanging their positions. If the first selected tile is adjacent to an empty cell, the player can slide the tile into that empty cell, creating a new empty cell in the tile's previous position. The game does not allow diagonal moves. A move counter is displayed on the screen, incrementing with each successful swap or slide. A level is completed when the arrangement of all tiles matches the target pattern exactly. The player can undo the last move by pressing an undo button, which reverses the most recent action. A reset button returns the grid to the initial starting configuration for the current level. The game provides a hint system, which highlights the next optimal move based on a pre-calculated solution path. The interface includes a level select screen, allowing the player to replay previously completed levels or skip ahead to unlocked ones. No time limit is imposed on individual moves, allowing for unlimited deliberation.
