FLAG CONNECT

FLAG CONNECT is a digital puzzle game developed by a small independent studio, released in 2023. The game presents players with a grid of tiles, each displaying a portion of a national flag. The objective is to connect these fragmented tiles to reconstruct complete, accurate flag designs. The game draws from a database of over 200 sovereign state flags, as well as select historical and regional flags. Each level presents a different flag, with the grid size and tile complexity increasing as the player progresses. The game does not include timers or scoring systems; the primary metric is the number of moves taken to complete each flag. The game interface consists of a square grid divided into movable tiles. Each tile contains a section of a flag design. The player interacts with the grid by clicking or tapping on a tile to select it. A selected tile is highlighted with a border. The player then clicks or taps on an adjacent empty space or another tile to swap their positions. Tiles can only be moved horizontally or vertically into an adjacent empty cell. The grid does not allow diagonal moves. The game provides a visual reference of the complete flag in a small panel in the corner of the screen. The player can toggle this reference on or off. The hint button, located at the bottom of the screen, highlights the correct grid position for one randomly selected tile. The game tracks the total number of moves made. A level is completed when all tiles are arranged to form the correct flag image. The player can restart the current level at any time via a dedicated button. There is no penalty for restarting. The game saves progress automatically after each completed level.
