Fairy Blossom Quest is a single-player puzzle-adventure game developed by independent studio Petal Interactive and released in 2023 for personal computers and mobile platforms. The game is set in the fictional realm of Aeloria, a land sustained by the magical energy of the Great Blossom Tree. The narrative follows a young fairy named Liora, who must restore the tree’s fading power by collecting scattered blossom fragments across six distinct biomes, including the Crystal Glade, the Mushroom Marsh, and the Sunken Grotto. Each biome features a unique color palette and ambient soundscape, with environmental puzzles integrated into the landscape. The game employs a hand-drawn art style with cel-shaded characters and parallax scrolling backgrounds. Gameplay in Fairy Blossom Quest is divided into two primary modes: exploration and puzzle-solving. The player controls Liora using a directional input system. On keyboard, the W, A, S, and D keys move the character; the spacebar initiates a short hover ability that allows crossing gaps or reaching elevated platforms. On mobile devices, a virtual joystick on the left side of the screen controls movement, while a tap on the right side activates the hover. The mouse or touchscreen is used to interact with objects, such as pulling levers, pushing blocks, or collecting blossom fragments. The core puzzle mechanic involves matching colored blossoms to corresponding receptacles. Each level presents a grid of flower buds that bloom in sequence when the player touches them. The player must arrange the blooming order to create a chain reaction that unlocks a path to the level’s exit. A timer is displayed in the upper-left corner, tracking the player’s completion speed for optional star ratings. The inventory system, accessed by pressing the I key or tapping an icon on the screen, holds up to three special items, such as a wind charm that slows falling or a light orb that reveals hidden platforms. The game auto-saves after each level completion. Controls can be remapped in the settings menu.
