Description
Evolution Merge Arena is a digital strategy game that combines elements of auto-battler, tower defense, and merge mechanics. The game presents a grid-based battlefield where players deploy units represented by cards or tokens. These units are obtained from a randomized pool and can be combined, or merged, to create higher-tier, more powerful versions. The core loop involves managing a limited number of unit slots on the field, merging identical units to upgrade them, and positioning them to defend against waves of enemy forces. The game features a fantasy theme with various unit types, including melee fighters, ranged attackers, and magical casters, each possessing distinct statistics and abilities. Progression is structured through a series of levels or stages, each with increasing difficulty. Players earn in-game currency and resources upon completing battles, which can be used to unlock new unit types or upgrade existing ones outside of combat. The game is designed for single-player campaign play, though some versions may include asynchronous multiplayer leaderboards or challenge modes. The visual presentation is typically isometric or top-down, with a clean interface that prioritizes clarity of unit positions and merge opportunities.
Instructions
Gameplay and controls are executed primarily through touch or mouse input. The player begins each match with a starting hand of units and a designated number of deployment slots on a grid. To deploy a unit, the player selects a unit card from the bottom of the screen and taps or clicks an empty grid cell. Units automatically attack enemies within their range once placed. The central mechanic is merging: dragging one identical unit token onto another of the same tier causes them to combine into a single, higher-tier unit. This merged unit occupies one slot and possesses increased health, damage, and often a new ability. The player must strategically decide when to merge versus when to maintain multiple lower-tier units for coverage. A timer or energy bar governs the rate at which new unit cards are drawn. The interface includes a pause button, a speed toggle for battle progression, and a display of current gold or mana. During battle, the player can also sell units for a partial refund of resources by dragging them to a designated sell zone. Victory conditions require surviving all enemy waves without losing a set number of lives, represented by a health bar at the top of the screen. Defeat occurs when enemy units reach the player’s base or when the health bar is depleted.
