Description

Egyxos Memory Cards is a digital card-matching game developed and published by the Italian studio Digital Tales, released in 2016 for multiple platforms including iOS, Android, and Windows. The game is based on the Italian animated television series Egyxos, which centers on a conflict between two factions of humanoid warriors, the Egyxos and the Xos, who draw power from ancient Egyptian mythology and advanced technology. The game adapts the series’ visual aesthetic, featuring character portraits and symbols derived from the show’s Egyptian-inspired iconography, such as ankhs, scarabs, and hieroglyphs. The core objective is to test and improve the player’s visual memory by locating pairs of identical cards hidden within a grid. The game includes multiple difficulty levels, which increase the number of cards and reduce the time allowed for matching. A scoring system tracks successful matches and completion times, with higher scores awarded for faster performance. The game does not contain a narrative campaign; instead, it functions as a standalone puzzle experience tied thematically to the Egyxos franchise. It is designed for single-player use and does not include multiplayer or online connectivity features.

Instructions

The gameplay of Egyxos Memory Cards is based on the classic concentration card game. The player is presented with a grid of facedown cards. Each card displays a unique image from the Egyxos series. The player selects a card by tapping or clicking on it, which causes the card to flip and reveal its image. The player then selects a second card. If the two revealed cards display the same image, they remain face up and are considered a matched pair. If the images do not match, both cards flip back to their facedown state after a brief display period. The player must remember the positions of previously revealed cards to make successful matches. The game ends when all pairs have been matched. Controls are limited to point-and-click on desktop platforms or touch input on mobile devices. The interface includes a timer displayed at the top of the screen, counting down from a set limit that varies by difficulty. A moves counter tracks the number of card selections made. The game offers three difficulty settings: Easy, which uses a 4x3 grid of 12 cards; Medium, which uses a 4x4 grid of 16 cards; and Hard, which uses a 6x6 grid of 36 cards. The player can restart the current game at any time using a dedicated button. No sound or haptic feedback is required for gameplay, though the game provides optional audio cues for matches and mismatches.
