Dream Pet Merge is a mobile puzzle and collection game developed for the Android and iOS platforms. The game centers on a core mechanic of merging identical virtual pet creatures to create more advanced or higher-level variants. Players begin with a basic set of simple, cartoonish animal designs, such as cats, dogs, or rabbits, represented as small icons or sprites on a grid-based board. The objective is to systematically combine these creatures to unlock a progressively larger and more diverse roster of pets, each with distinct visual characteristics and thematic variations. The game incorporates a resource management system where merging actions consume in-game currency or energy, which regenerates over time or can be acquired through gameplay. A secondary layer involves habitat or environment customization, allowing players to arrange unlocked pets within a designated living space. Gameplay is conducted through a touch-based interface on a rectangular grid. Players select a pet icon by tapping it, then drag it onto an identical pet icon of the same level to initiate a merge. A successful merge consumes both source pets and produces a single, higher-level pet of the same type. The resulting pet is placed in the grid cell where the second pet was located. The grid has a finite number of cells, and players must manage space by merging or selling unwanted pets. A merge can also be performed by tapping two identical pets sequentially, provided they are adjacent. The game provides a visual indicator, such as a glowing outline, when a valid merge is possible. Controls include a single tap to select a pet, a drag gesture to move it, and a double-tap to sell a pet for in-game currency. A menu bar at the bottom of the screen contains buttons for accessing the pet collection encyclopedia, the in-game shop for purchasing new pet eggs or boosters, and the settings menu. The game automatically saves progress to the device’s local storage. No multiplayer or online interaction is present.
