Description

Draw to Save my Hero is a puzzle-strategy mobile game developed by a Chinese studio, first released in 2020. The game presents a series of discrete levels, each containing a static scene where a protagonist character is placed in immediate peril, typically from an approaching enemy, a falling object, or a hazardous environmental element. The core objective is to protect the hero from harm by drawing a single, continuous line on the touchscreen. This drawn line instantly becomes a physical barrier or object within the game’s physics simulation, capable of blocking, deflecting, or redirecting threats. The game employs a minimalist art style with flat colors and simple character designs, focusing player attention on the spatial puzzle. Each level is designed with a single solution, though multiple drawing approaches may achieve the same protective result. The game includes a hint system that can be accessed after a set number of failures. Progression is linear, with difficulty increasing through more complex threat patterns, moving obstacles, and limited drawing space. The game does not feature a narrative campaign beyond the immediate survival of each level’s hero.

Instructions

Gameplay and controls are based entirely on touch input. The player interacts by placing a finger on the screen and dragging to draw a freeform line. The line is rendered as a solid, rigid object once the finger is lifted. This object obeys real-time physics, including gravity, collision, and friction. The player must draw the line in a position and shape that intercepts or neutralizes the incoming threat before it reaches the hero. The hero is stationary and cannot be moved. The threat moves along a predetermined path or trajectory. The player has a limited amount of ink or drawing length per level, indicated by a gauge at the top of the screen. Exceeding this limit prevents the line from being drawn. The drawing area is the entire screen, but the line cannot intersect the hero’s body. After drawing, the player taps a play button to start the threat’s movement. The outcome is determined by the physics simulation. If the hero is hit, the level is failed and must be retried. If the hero survives, the level is cleared. There are no additional controls, such as buttons for erasing or pausing; the only action is drawing and starting the simulation.
