Description
Cute Pony Memory Quest is a digital puzzle game developed by Tiny Spark Studios and released in 2023 for mobile platforms and personal computers. The game is classified within the memory matching subgenre, featuring a fantasy equine theme. The objective is to locate pairs of identical cards depicting various stylized ponies, each with distinct color schemes, accessories, and expressions. The game contains a total of 120 unique pony illustrations, distributed across multiple themed sets such as "Rainbow Meadows," "Starlit Forest," and "Crystal Caverns." Each set contains 20 cards, forming 10 matching pairs. The game includes a single-player mode with a progression system that unlocks new sets upon completion of previous ones. A time-attack mode is also available, where the player must complete a set within a countdown timer. The game tracks statistics including total matches found, average completion time, and highest streak of consecutive correct matches. The visual presentation uses a bright, saturated color palette with simple, rounded character designs. The audio consists of a looping instrumental soundtrack and sound effects for card flips and successful matches. No narrative or dialogue is present; the game focuses solely on the core memory challenge.
Instructions
The game is controlled exclusively through a point-and-click or tap interface. On a computer, the player uses a mouse to click on cards. On a mobile device, the player taps directly on the screen. The game board displays a grid of face-down cards. The player selects a card by clicking or tapping it, which causes the card to animate a flip, revealing the pony illustration. The player then selects a second card. If the two revealed cards are a matching pair, both cards remain face-up and are removed from the board after a brief animation. If the cards do not match, both cards flip back to their face-down state after a short delay. The player must remember the positions of previously revealed cards to form subsequent matches. The game does not penalize incorrect guesses; the only constraint is the timer in time-attack mode. A progress bar at the top of the screen indicates the number of remaining pairs. A pause button is located in the upper right corner, which halts the timer and returns the player to the main menu. The settings menu allows adjustment of sound volume and toggling of visual effects. No keyboard shortcuts or alternative input methods are supported.
