Cute Pony Hidden Stars

Gameplay and controls are based on point-and-click or touch interaction. The player is presented with a full-screen image of the current level. The interface displays a star counter in the upper left corner, showing the number of stars remaining to be found. A timer is located in the upper right corner. A hint button, represented by a question mark icon, is positioned in the lower right corner. To interact, the player taps or clicks directly on a suspected star location. A correct selection causes the star to animate briefly and disappear, accompanied by a chime sound. The star counter decreases by one. An incorrect selection results in a brief visual shake of the screen and no change to the counter. The hint button can be pressed once per level; pressing it causes a circular ripple effect to emanate from the location of the nearest undiscovered star. The player can zoom in on the scene by pinching on touchscreens or using the scroll wheel on a mouse. Zooming is limited to a 2x magnification. The player can pan the zoomed view by dragging or clicking and holding. A level is completed when the star counter reaches zero. Upon completion, a summary screen displays the time taken and the number of hints used. The player then selects the next level from a grid-based level select screen. No save states are required; progress is automatically recorded after each level completion.
