Connect Colors

Connect Colors is a puzzle video game developed by independent studio Luminary Games and released in 2023 for mobile platforms and personal computers. The game is built around a core mechanic of matching and connecting colored nodes on a grid-based playing field. Each level presents a static arrangement of circular nodes, each assigned one of a set of primary colors. The objective is to draw continuous lines between nodes of the same color without crossing paths or leaving any node unconnected. The game features a minimalist visual design, with a clean white background and flat, saturated color palettes. Levels are procedurally generated, offering an effectively infinite sequence of puzzles that increase in complexity through the introduction of additional colors, larger grid sizes, and obstacles such as blocked cells. The game includes a hint system that reveals a single correct connection, and a scoring system based on completion time and the number of moves used. No narrative or character elements are present; the game is purely a logic-based spatial reasoning exercise.

Gameplay and controls are executed through direct touch or mouse input. The player selects a node by tapping or clicking on it. A line then extends from the selected node, following the player’s finger or cursor movement. The line is drawn across the grid, snapping to adjacent nodes of the same color when the cursor passes over them. To complete a connection, the player must drag the line from one node to another node of the same color, ensuring the path does not intersect any other line or pass through a node of a different color. Lines can only travel horizontally or vertically between adjacent cells; diagonal movement is not permitted. Once a valid connection is made, both nodes and the line between them become fixed and are highlighted. The player repeats this process until all nodes on the grid are paired. If a line is drawn incorrectly, the player can undo the last connection by tapping an undo button located in the interface. The game also provides a reset button to clear all connections and restart the current level. Controls are responsive and designed for single-handed operation on mobile devices. No keyboard shortcuts are available on the PC version; all interactions are performed via mouse click-and-drag.
