Description

Cocktail Party 3D is a social simulation and party management video game developed by Digital Party Studios and released in 2023 for personal computers and virtual reality platforms. The game places the player in the role of a host managing a dynamic, three-dimensional cocktail party environment. The primary objective is to ensure guest satisfaction by balancing social interactions, drink preparation, and environmental maintenance. The game features a procedurally generated guest list with distinct personalities, preferences, and moods. Guests may request specific cocktails, engage in conversations, or cause minor disruptions such as spilling drinks or blocking pathways. The virtual space is a fully rendered 3D room, typically a modern apartment or lounge, which can be customized with furniture, lighting, and decorations. The game employs a real-time clock system where the party duration is limited, and success is measured by a cumulative "party score" based on guest happiness, number of successful interactions, and absence of major incidents. The game includes a single-player campaign mode with escalating difficulty and a sandbox mode for unrestricted play. Cocktail Party 3D does not feature a narrative story but focuses on emergent gameplay through guest AI behavior.

Instructions

Gameplay and controls in Cocktail Party 3D are divided into two primary modes: standard desktop and virtual reality. In the desktop mode, the player controls a cursor using a mouse to interact with objects and guests. Left-clicking selects a guest or item, while right-clicking opens a radial menu for actions such as "Mix Drink," "Talk," "Clean," or "Escort." The keyboard uses the WASD keys to pan the camera and the scroll wheel to zoom. The player must monitor a heads-up display (HUD) showing guest satisfaction bars, a drink recipe list, and a timer. To prepare a drink, the player clicks on the bar station, selects a glass, then clicks on ingredients in a specific order as indicated by the recipe. Drinks are served by clicking on the requesting guest. Guest interactions require clicking on a guest and selecting a conversation topic from a menu; successful dialogue increases satisfaction. In virtual reality mode, the player uses motion controllers to physically grab objects, pour liquids, and gesture toward guests. The VR interface uses a floating wrist menu for drink recipes and guest status. Controls include grip buttons for picking up items, trigger buttons for pouring or selecting, and thumbsticks for locomotion. Both modes require the player to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, as guests become impatient if ignored. The game ends when the timer expires or if guest satisfaction drops to zero.
