Description

Block Number Puzzle is a digital puzzle game released for mobile platforms and web browsers. The game presents a grid-based playing field, typically a 10x10 square, onto which players must place blocks of varying shapes and sizes. These blocks are composed of connected squares, similar to polyominoes, and are randomly generated or drawn from a predefined set. The objective is to arrange these blocks on the grid without overlapping, filling complete rows or columns to clear them and earn points. The game ends when no more blocks can be placed on the grid due to insufficient space. The core mechanic relies on spatial reasoning and forward planning, as the player must consider both the current block and the potential placement of future blocks. The game does not feature a timer, allowing for unlimited deliberation per move. Scoring is based on the number of lines cleared simultaneously, with higher multipliers for clearing multiple lines at once. The interface is minimalist, typically displaying the grid, a score counter, and a preview of the next block or blocks to be placed.

Instructions

Gameplay and controls are executed through direct touch or mouse input. The player is presented with a set of blocks, usually three, at the bottom or side of the screen. To place a block, the player selects it by tapping or clicking on it. The selected block then becomes movable and can be dragged across the grid. A translucent preview of the block's position appears on the grid, indicating where it will be placed if released. The player can rotate the selected block by tapping a rotation button or by performing a two-finger twist gesture on touchscreens. The block is placed by releasing the drag or tapping a confirmed location on the grid. Once placed, the block locks into position. If the placement completes one or more full horizontal rows or vertical columns, those lines are immediately removed, and the blocks above them collapse downward. The player then receives a new set of blocks to place. The game provides no undo function; each placement is permanent. The interface includes a pause button that halts the game and may offer options to restart or resume. The game ends when the player cannot place any of the available blocks onto the grid, at which point a final score is displayed.
